Gibbons Engineering Group have teamed up with Tollesbury Primary School to run a Halloween themed competition.
We decided we should give something back to our community, so supporting our local school felt like the right thing to do. The children were asked to draw a pumpkin and the staff at Gibbons voted for the best one. The winner received a bundle of books for their classroom.
Gibbons have also gifted all the children at Tollesbury School packets of sweets as they missed out on Halloween this year due to the pandemic.
‘We felt terrible that the children in Tollesbury would have missed out on their traditional trick or treating which is usually a big night in the village. So we chose to support our local school. We thought sending out some sweets might be a nice thing to do so they would still get their Halloween treat after a year which has felt like a trick’ says Rael, Marketing Manager at Gibbons.
Gibbons usually runs an annual engineering day at the school for year six where they come in for a tour, do an engineering experiment and discuss careers in engineering. However, this year they had to cancel due to lockdown. Halloween felt like a great time to reconnect with the school.
Supporting the local area is something we are passionate about, particularly during this time when communities need extra support to weather the pandemic.
