Service and Maintenance of Road and Rail Tunnel Fans2019-09-12T15:05:08+01:00

Project Description

The fan equipment within tunnels is arguably one of the most important items of plant.  Typically this equipment is installed to save lives in the event of an emergency and provide safe access for emergency services that may need to enter the tunnel.

Careful maintenance and inspection of fans is very important to ensure the plant remains in the best condition and is able to run when required.

Gibbons Engineering Group offer services for the service, maintenance and repair of tunnel fan equipment.

Service & Maintenance

Gibbons Engineers undertake routine assessment of tunnel fan equipment installed within the road or rail tunnel.  We offer a turnkey package providing all necessary access equipment to safely assess the fans.

Our works are not limited to a mechanical inspection.  We undertake condition based monitoring of the plant to establish current conditions and to allow for the planning of any required downtime.  Using condition monitoring reduces unplanned downtime. Trending the information helps us predict when works will be required.

Gibbons Engineers also complete thermal imaging of the MCC panel, motors and cables using the latest equipment.

Repairs

Gibbons are able to make repairs to tunnel vent fan equipment. Our internal teams are certified to repair hazardous area motors and we can supply motors for high temperature applications and safe areas.

Record Keeping

Following every site visit a detailed report is produced showing what corrective measures were completed  and  work that is likely to be required in the future.
